Implant-based and autologous (DIEP, TRAM) breast reconstruction after mastectomy — performed by ISAPS-credentialed reconstructive surgeons, often in coordination with oncology teams in your home country.
Overview
Our reconstructive practice is a small subset of our overall surgical volume — by design. We perform DIEP, TRAM, and implant-based reconstructions; we coordinate with international oncologists via your concierge; and we provide full surgical documentation for insurance claims, which often cover reconstruction in part or whole.
The consultation
A ninety-minute video consultation with the reconstructive surgeon, with full review of your oncology history, mastectomy reports, and imaging. We will work with your oncology team to schedule reconstruction at the right point in your treatment timeline.
Our approach
Implant-based reconstruction (one- or two-stage with expander) for most patients; autologous (using your own tissue from the abdomen — DIEP or TRAM) for patients seeking the most natural result, with adequate donor tissue. We discuss honestly what each approach can and cannot deliver.
Recovery
Two nights in hospital, then ten to fourteen nights in our recovery villa with daily nursing. Autologous reconstruction requires longer recovery (fourteen+ nights) and graduated return to activity over eight weeks.
